Short instructions for the things leaders do in Alta. Each takes a minute to read.

Tasks

  • Set up your schoolSetup takes one sitting and five short steps. Nothing in it requires a document or a calendar connection.
  • Prepare and use a briefingAlta prepares a briefing from your priorities, meetings, commitments, and anything you added, and shows where each line came from.
  • Ask the Council a questionBring a decision to six advisors: Strategy, Finance, Academics, Enrollment, People & Leadership, and Governance & Accountability. No meeting is needed.
  • Prepare for a meetingTell Alta what a meeting is about, and it prepares a one-page brief from the information available.
  • Add documents and source linksDocuments and links make Alta’s answers specific to your school. None is required.
  • Research relevant laws and regulationsWhen a question turns on a law, a rule, or an authorizer’s requirement, Alta can search official sources for your state and quote what it reads.
  • Record decisions and commitmentsAlta keeps the record of what you decided and who owes what, so nothing is lost between meetings.
  • Update your school’s prioritiesYour priorities shape what Alta puts in front of you. Change them as the year changes.
  • Manage privacy and documentsYour school’s information is visible only to people with an account at your school, and you choose who sees each document.
  • Continue after the pilotAt the end of your 14 days you choose whether to continue. Nothing is charged unless you do.

Something not working?

If you use Alta, open About your pilot in the app and choose Report a problem. The report keeps the page you were on. Otherwise, see the contact page.
